A very disappointing Sunday!. Conditions were so much better further to the NW, with temperatures up to 20 in places & up to 8 hrs of sunshine. Early indications show September to have been a dry month in Pitlochry, with near-normal temperatures, but more details later.

Generally rather cloudy, though bright at times. Some sunny intervals likely ( It's already sunny the other side of Drumochter! ). Dry throughout, though a fresh E to SE breeze. Maximum temperatures around 15. Fine & mild tonight.

A large area of high pressure will remain anchored over Scandinavia for a few days to come, keeping winds in our area in the E or SE. Places further west are likely to receive the best of the sunshine & higher temperatures over the next day or two.
TODAY'S FORECAST FOR PITLOCHRY
Dry throughout. Partly cloudy. though often bright, with the best of the sunny breaks this afternoon. Temperatures still a touch above normal, though it may not feel over-warm in the brisk E to SE wind (max. temp. 15 to 17). TONIGHT should be fine & mild.

Some misty low cloud to get rid of, but then a very reasonable weekend lies ahead.

During the morning, cloud should lift & it will generally become brighter, with some sunshine at times during the afternoon & evening. Winds again in the SE but light force 2. WEEKEND----A misty low cloud / foggy start likely on SATURDAY but things should improve later, with brighter skies & sunny intervals by or before afternoon. Winds will be light to moderate from the SE & it should feel pleasantly warm as maximum temperatures reach 16 or 17.

A cold start to the day, but the morning should be dry & bright with some sunshine. There is likely to be rather more in the way of cloud this afternoon, but remaining dry.  Winds will be light, blowing mainly from the SE. Maximum temperatures should reach 14 degrees, close to the late September normal.  TONIGHT will be mainly cloudy with a little rain possible later on. It will be much less cold than last night.

FRIDAY---Is expected to be generally more cloudy than Thursday, with the cloud on the hills at times. Though mainly dry, the odd patch of showery rain can't be totally ruled out.  Sunshine may well be in rather short supply.  Winds will continue in the SE & highest temperatures will again reach around a normal 14 degrees.

WEEKEND--Probably a dull start to SATURDAY, with misty low cloud & some fog patches too. The afternoon should be brighter, with a few sunny intervals. SUNDAY should be rather better--a mainly dry, bright day.
Throughout the weekend, winds will be in the SE, mainly light, with best temperatures around 14 or 15.   So in summary, nothing spectacular, but reasonable for the end of September.

The high pressure has retreated & a cold front has introduced cooler conditions. Cloud is expected to dominate over sunshine for the next few days, though only very small amounts of rain are expected.

Somewhat overcast this morning, with perhaps a few patches of light rain. The afternoon should be rather brighter, though sunshine amounts are expected to be limited.. Winds in an easterly quarter, with best temperatures only around 14. TONIGHT should be dry with some clear spells & rather chilly (possible ground frost in prone spots.)

The high pressure that has given us some pleasant conditions in recent days is moving away eastwards & weak frontal systems will be slow-moving over Scotland, ensuring rather less inspiring weather for the next few days.
TODAY'S FORECAST FOR PITLOCHRY
A dry day ahead, but rather a lot of cloud around, with sunshine less abundant than of late.Winds are now into an easterly quarter, which together with the cloud, will help to pull temperatures down to more normal values (15 or 16 at best). TONIGHT will be dry & cloudy for the most part, though a few patches of slight rain or drizzle may occur.

But, despite the days getting shorter,  not a time for feeling despondent--- I actually had breakfast outside this morning, with sunny intervals & above-average temperatures as a delightful back-cloth to the toast & marmalade!!

A warm, dry day with areas of cloud, but also intervals of sunshine. Winds will be force 3 from WNW, with temperatures reaching above average (around 19 or 20). Dry & mild overnight. (Go east rather than west for the best of the sunshine & warmth).

The good news is that pressure is building from the SE & it's going to get warmer.  The not- so- good news is that the airstream over us is very moist & mainly cloudy.

The emphasis is much more on cloud than on sunshine, moreover, a few patches of slight rain or drizzle cannot be totally ruled out. But, for much of the time it should be dry, winds will be S force 2 & it will feel rather warm (maximum 15 or 16 ). The night should be very mild, though low cloud & patchy drizzle are likely.
